Two Year Old Rooms
Social Development
A child’s speech expands by leaps and bounds during this important period of growth. Children begin to use words to express their feelings, negotiate with other children to get what they want and mimic what they hear in adult conversation. Dramatic play is very important at this time in their lives, and is one of focuses in the two year old classrooms. It helps children to communicate with their peers and stimulate their imaginations.
Physical and Intellectual Development
Discovery with sand, water, blocks and art supplies tap into a child’s creativity. Puzzles help with problem solving, play dough helps with fine motor, and gross motor is developed through running, climbing, rolling, catching and throwing. Variety is the spice of life, and children at For Kids’ Sake are introduced to a wide range of activities to help them progress while having fun. Teacher to children ratios are held at 1:6 in the two year old classrooms.
